Exhibition overview of a performance series founded and directed by Laure Drogoul. Located at Maryland Art Place, the project was conceived as a place to experiment with new forms of art making and challenge expectations. Starting in 1989, the project presented hundreds of local, national and international artists. The 14Karat Cabaret Exhibition in Maryland Art Place’s Gallery featured installations, ephemera, photos, posters, performing objects and video of the history of the project

Penelope


Collaborative Performance 2014
Theatre Project, Baltimore, MD
Penelope is a shadow play that takes its inspiration from the cunning weaver(and wife of Odysseus) in Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey. The performance features the songs and soundscapes of Lurch and Holler, acro-balancing by the Dandy Vagabonds performances by Selena Schreyer, Joe Meduza, Isa Leal, and Diane Hugé. Garments by John Flowers, animation by Laurence Arcadias, set and direction by Laure Drogoul.


Presented as a works-in-progress in October as part of the Transmodern Festival.
